Equal Opportunity Employment
A STORY...

E.O.E (Equal Opportunity Employment) is a diverse World - Funk - Hop outfit from New Orleans, LA. The band was formed in 2004 and quickly developed a following in the Big Easy with their unique blend of Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin, Reggae and New Orleans Second Line Funk. E.O.E was on tour in the western U.S. when hurricane Katrina made landfall in August 2005 and forever changed the band's hometown. Spread throughout the United States, the members of E.O.E gained strength from both their unity and diversity and reached a new level of passion and commitment. Despite being in different places around the country, the members of E.O.E continued to build momentum and in the 2 years following Hurricane Katrina the band embarked on 14 succesful tours and covered more than 60,000 miles, playing hundreds of shows in the western half of the U.S.

E.O.E exists first and foremost to impart their mantra to the the masses - "Unity through Diversity." This purpose is is why many well known New Orleans musicians consider E.O.E their priority and home. The music holds a message of peace and forward thinking and contains strong social and political overtones. The compositions are presented it in a conscious balance between song writing and improvisation, striving to achieve freedom within structure rather than in spite of it. The band makes a concerted effort to put their message into action, helping to raise awareness for organizations such as "Drop in the Bucket" and "Sweet Home New Orleans" in addition to other humanitarian efforts.

In August 2007 E.O.E officially moved back home. Now for the first time since the hurricane, all of the members of the band live in New Orleans. E.O.E celebrated their homecoming with a packed show at the world famous Tipitinas on Sep 1st 2007 and they are once again making big waves in the Crescent City and around the gulf south. Recent highlights include a 3hr. appearance and interview on WWL TV Eyewitness News, a 1 1/2 hr. live performance on WWOZ FM, Papa Mali's Supernatural Ball at Tiptinas - Mardis Gras 2008, and features in all of the major New Orleans music publications.
